JOSÉ BARAHONA studied Cinema in Lisbon, Cuba and New York. In his films, he develops a hybrid territory where documentary and fiction mix to each other, such as in his films CLANDESTINE SOUL (2018), I WAS IN LISBON AND REMEMBERED YOU (2015) and THE LOST MANUSCRIPT (2010), all presented in several festivals worldwide and released in Brazil and/or Portugal. A book about THE LOST MANUSCRIPT was published with a preface by Nelson Pereira dos Santos. NHEENGATU is his newest documentary film and he is now preparing the fiction film NAUFRAGOS, written with the African writer José Eduardo Agualusa.
