Biographie

Ribena Asnate was born in 1979. She studied Communication Science at University of Latvia. In 2002 she participated on directing courses of well known Latvian film director Ansis Epners. She worked for animation studio Dauka, participating as a assistant director and animator on number of animated film and advertisements. She is also author of book illustrations, she is a long time collaborator for World Wildlife Found of Latvia (booklets, posters, etc.)

Chinese or Mongolian?

The French documentary film The Arrivals was screened at the Jihlava IDFF 2010. At the end of the festival, it was selected as the best film of the travelling Doc Alliance Selection, winning the prestigious Doc Alliance Award. After its successful festival tour, the film opens the doors to a place where the clash of civilizations is a daily routine to online spectators as well.
