Biographie

Antonio Borges Correia was born in 1966. He studied film between ’89 – ’92 in Lisbon at the Conservatory (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema). Until 2003, he shot four short movies that were shown on number of international festivals. In ’99 his short movie Golpe de asa/ Flying away was in official selection in Locarno FF.
Antonio made his first documentary in 2005. It was portrait of Portuguese actress, Isabel de Castro. In 2008 he finished O lar/ Endgame inside a Residence for old people. This film was presented at Cinéma du Réel, Paris (International competition); at Indielisboa (Independent Film Festival, Lisbon, National Competition), at the official competition of the Mexico City International Contemporary Film Festival 2009 and at a showcase in Copenhagen (Grand Teatret) and in "PANORAMA 2009" in Portugal. This movie was also selected for Dok Market Leipzig in 2008.
Antonio works also for television on fiction tv-series.
His last documentary project is about war stress with ex-soldiers. The pitch line is “What destroys them, also keeps them alive: memories”.
