Biography

Alexandra Gojdičová graduated from the subject of cultural studies at the Philosophical Faculty in Bratislava, Slovakia. During her studies, she was active in the audiovisual studio Brachtl where she participated in a number of both commercial and artistic film projects as executive producer, assistant director and editor. She cooperated with the civil association Truc Sphérige, working on the programming of the Strečno Film Festival as well as with the Centre for Documentary Film as manager of the documentary film festival Three Days of Documentary Film 2003. From 2006, she studies documentary editing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). She continues her activities in Bratislava, e.g. her cooperation with A4 –zero space.

Single Shot Indonesia

For more than 10 years, Dutch director Leonard Retel Helmrich has been returning to the homeland of his parents to observe and record the transformation of Indonesia in the turbulent years of economic and cultural globalization. The Dafilms portal presents all of the three parts of his famous documentary trilogy, including the latest film Position among the Stars. On the backdrop of the tension in Indonesian society, Helmrich’s camera follows the Sjamsuddin family living their daily lives of work and worries, mutual love and hatred. In the week from May 21, you can watch the first two parts of the trilogy; The Eye of the Day and Shape of the Moon; for free.
