Biography

Petra Nesvačilová was born in 1985. She studied at Biskupské gymnázium in České Budějovice. At the age of 17 she was a leading person of a film club in theatre SUD, where she was also a script editor of documentary section (www.divadlo-sud.cz). She made a music video for Satisfuction group (2003).In 2004 she got an award during International festival of documentary films „Jeden svět“ for third place with „Chci jen pochopit“. One year later during the same festival she won third place in photography section with „Káťa a Andrea, ženy. She made several documents about making a movie, e.g. - Pusinky (2006), František je děvkař (2007) and Lištičky (2009).She is co-founder, co-script editor and co-organizer of „RUBmovie“ (2006) – annual film festival in Rubín theatre. In 2009 she made documentary films within the scope of „24 HODIN S...“ cycle for TV Z1. She is studying the department of documentary films at FAMU University at the present time. Petra is also a film and theatre actress.

International My Street Films project launches its third edition

The My Street Films competition, which invites the public to make their own short films from their surroundings, launches its third edition in the streets of Central Europe. The project originally comes from London where it mapped the city on the Thames through film stories about the streets and their inhabitants. In collaboration with DAFilms.com, the film map has expanded to the Czech Republic and from there to Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
