Biography

Tomasz Wolski has taken part in Berlinale Talent Campus twice and received a scholarship from Ministry of Culture and Natural Heritage (of the Republic of Poland), “Young Poland” – Minister of Culture’s Scholarship and “Creative Grant of the City of Krakow”. He was awarded at The Punto de Vista Documentary Film Festival in Spain with Jean Vigo Prize for the Best Director, DocumentART Festival in Germany with Grand Prix, International Film Festival “Era New Horizons” in Wroclaw for Best Documentary and “Slamdance on the Road” Festival in Poland with Grand Prix.

A documentary film about army cooks and how the everyday needs of thousands of armed stomachs affect the victories and defeats of statesmen. About the field kitchen as a model of a world where food preparation becomes a fight strategy; a fight for great ideals standing on strong legs of the kitchen table. The film is based on eleven recipes of the cooks since the Second World War till the war in Tchechenia; from France through the Balkans to Russia.
