Biographie

Alex Mayenfisch was born in 1954 in Lausanne where he has stayed ever since. In 1972 - 1987 he was trained as a graphic designer. He later developed and managed a printing association. He also worked as a computer graphics artist and layouter at the Swiss magazine L'Hebdo and contributed to cultural and social publications. In 1985 Alex founded the Bellevue Video Studio and Climage and started his independent filmmaking career. He also collaborated with Musée l'Elysée (photography), the Lausanne History Museum, the Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Lausanne Bureau for Immigrants.

The French documentary film The Arrivals was screened at the Jihlava IDFF 2010. At the end of the festival, it was selected as the best film of the travelling Doc Alliance Selection, winning the prestigious Doc Alliance Award. After its successful festival tour, the film opens the doors to a place where the clash of civilizations is a daily routine to online spectators as well.
