Biographie

Séverine Barde was born in 1966. She studied at L´Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Belgium. As a cinematographer she worked on many full-lenght feature films (Stealth, La Vraie vie est ailleurs, Comme des voleurs, 8+2=82, Garçon Stupide, Poids Léger etc.) and documentaries (Money, Traders, Science Suisse, Sex Toys Stories etc.)
With Marie-Christophe Ruata-Arn she co-directed Un ange passe - a series of short portraits of people who dedicate themselves to others through their job - shopkeepers, civil servants, medical staff, caretakers.

Chinese or Mongolian?

The French documentary film The Arrivals was screened at the Jihlava IDFF 2010. At the end of the festival, it was selected as the best film of the travelling Doc Alliance Selection, winning the prestigious Doc Alliance Award. After its successful festival tour, the film opens the doors to a place where the clash of civilizations is a daily routine to online spectators as well.
