Biographie

Vibeke Bryld has a background in Philosophy and Arts from University of Copenhagen and in 2003 she graduated from Goldsmith's College with an MA in Documentary. Her graduation film was nominated for the Royal National Student Television Awards. Over the last years she has directed a series of short documentaries for Al Jazeera English and produced and directed a string of portraits of internationally acclaimed artists in New York, London, and Copenhagen.
Her latest documentary film Throwing Paint Tins off the Roof premiered in Copenhagen in 2007 at CphDox, where it was nominated for the New Vision Award, and it has since been screened internationally from the New York Underground Film Festival to Festival Internacional de Curtas – Metragens de Sao Paulo.
Vibeke is currently developing two documentaries; a teenage film about an Arab girl and her headmaster, set in Jaffa, Israel, and a documentary exploring the suggestive world of fairytales and storytelling.
Bryld also works as a co-ordinator of European Documentary Network and as a programmer for the national Danish cinematheque, Cinemateket.

At the end of the festival, it was selected as the best film of the travelling Doc Alliance Selection, winning the prestigious Doc Alliance Award. After its successful festival tour, the film opens the doors to a place where the clash of civilizations is a daily routine to online spectators as well.
