Arbo Tammiksaar



Arbo Tammiksaar has studied Biology in Tartu University and Ceramics and Design in Estonian Academy of Arts.
In 2001 he graduated from the Tallinn Pedagogical University (Department of Audio-Visual Arts, Chair of Film and Video).
Arbo Tammiksaar has worked for years as a designer and an artist. His works have been presented at exhibitions also outside of Estonia, in New York, Berlin, Helsinki and Bruessels.
Graduated from “North by Northwest” scriptwriting courses.
He was a member of the Prime Minister’s ‘Estonian brand’ workgroup.

This film follows the development of the enemy's figure in Soviet film and the role of Baltic actors in creating it.





“My work has two strands: the first one deals with direct political images of violence, aggression and protest, mostly in Israeli-Palestinian context. It’s critique of news media, researching the complex, both realistic and surrealistic aspects of these images. The second strand of videos is more abstract and universal, dealing with cognitive, environmental and existential issues,” says the director about his works.
