Biography

Levin Peter was born in 1985 in Germany. His first film projects he realized during school time. As part of his A-Level he made a documentary about the national uprising of 17th June 1953 in the GDR. After that, he started to work in different postproduction companies. In August 2006 he visited the occupied tower block „Prestes Maia“ in Sao Paulo. That experience inspired him to shoot a documentary about the biggest occupied tower block in whole Latin America, together with Jonas Ginter. This project was realised in co-production with ZDF/ARTE in 2008. In september 2008 he started to study at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, specialized on documentaries. In 2010 he started with Kitesurfing and got part of Storm-Cinema. Actually he works as a director for documentaries and commercials.

A documentary film about army cooks and how the everyday needs of thousands of armed stomachs affect the victories and defeats of statesmen. About the field kitchen as a model of a world where food preparation becomes a fight strategy; a fight for great ideals standing on strong legs of the kitchen table. The film is based on eleven recipes of the cooks since the Second World War till the war in Tchechenia; from France through the Balkans to Russia.
