Ivan Ostrochovský (b. 1972, Žilina, Slovakia) graduated from Bratislava’s Academy of Performing Arts. His documentary work includes Screenplay for a Documentary Film (Scenár k dokumentárnemu filmu, 2001), The Lesser Evil (Menšie zlo, 2004) and Velvet Terrorists (Zamatoví teroristi, 2013). He was involved as coproducer on the documentaries Matchmaking Mayor (Nesvatbov, 2010, dir. Erika Hníková) and As Far as the Town of Aš (Až do mesta Aš, 2010, dir. Iveta Grofová).

A film which hovers on the edge of documentary and fiction as it describes the efforts of certain individuals to rise up against the former regime. Stano, Fero and Vladimír were once branded as criminals yet, from today’s perspective, we look upon their often comical actions as expressions of a courage that was extremely rare amid the homogeneous mass of normalisation society.
