Ivan Garcia (Palafrugell, Spain, 1978) is a librarian and archivist. He studied film directing and editing at the CECC in Barcelona. His shorts and full lenght documentaries have been selected and screened in several international film festivals.

Excerpts from a Beijing University student diary during China's Cultural Revolution. As Lin Biao said: "We must firmly implement the Chairman Mao Zedong's instructions, whether we understand them or not".





“My work has two strands: the first one deals with direct political images of violence, aggression and protest, mostly in Israeli-Palestinian context. It’s critique of news media, researching the complex, both realistic and surrealistic aspects of these images. The second strand of videos is more abstract and universal, dealing with cognitive, environmental and existential issues,” says the director about his works.
