Christiana Perschon



Christiana Perschon lives and works as filmmaker in Vienna (AT). After working for Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) and Austrian Audiovisual Archive she is currently researcher at the Ludwig-Boltzmann-Institute for History and Society. She holds a diploma in Media Sciences and studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Film, Art and Digital Media). Her short film NOEMA was shown at international festivals and won the Vienna Short Film Award for best Austrian film (2014).

Audio-visual notes on the encounter with 93 year old painter Tatjana, who is loosing her eyesight. Gestures gently observed through the tips of her hair interfere with thoughts about the sense of time and a dreamlike reality. Moving images follow the painter's alignment relying more than ever on her experienced hand and imagination and exploring sensory perception beyond seeing.

Gulîstan, Land of Roses Wins Prestigious Doc Alliance Selection Award at Locarno IFF

On Sunday, August 7, young director Zaynê Akyol became the 9th winner of the unique Doc Alliance Selection Award that is awarded since 2008 by the international Doc Alliance platform. The Kurdish director based in Canada received the award during an award ceremony at Locarno IFF. Along with the award, the filmmaker also received financial support of 5.000 euro for her future film.
