MyStreet is an online, user-generated film channel created by Open City Docs, inviting people from across the globe to tell their story through film. MyStreet stories are where you are, who you are and how you live… your place on the map. Anyone can upload their film from anywhere in the world.
By uploading a film to the MyStreet platform, filmmakers join the MyStreet community and contribute to a living archive - an ever evolving slice of life, told from the ground up and linked to the MyStreet map, easily searchable by postcode. Watch MyStreet films online and discover people's lives and places.
MyStreet films also run an annual competition to find the best 10 films about a UK location submitted to their participatory platform in the last 12 months. The chosen MyStreet films are then screened at Open City Docs Fest, which this year, takes place 20-23 June 2013. The deadline for the MyStreet competition is 15 May 2013.
MyStreet have specially curated a selection of films from the 2012 MyStreet competition shortlist, available to watch for free at Doc Alliance from April 1 to 7.
