Enter the fall festival season and celebrate the start of Jihlava IDFF by an online premiere of the latest film by Oscar-winning director Danis Tanović. An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker is set in the environment of a Bosnian Roma family living on the verge of social and physical poverty. The real characters of the story, husband Nazif Mujić and wife Senada Alimanović, play their own parts, revisiting the story of their struggle for survival. The winner of Berlinale 2013’s Jury Grand Prix is introduced by DAFilms.com and Artcam distribution company, premiering the day and date repase format on Thursday, October 24. On this unique occasion, viewers may watch the film online and go see it in Czech cinemas on the very same day. Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker is available for free streaming by Sunday, October 27.
The fall festival harvest also includes docu-fiction Just the Wind available from October 21 to October 23. The film was awarded Berlinale’s Jury Grand Prix a year earlier in 2012. The raw probe by Hungarian director Benedek Fliegauf depicts the course of a single day in the life of a Roma community. How to live and survive with a permanent feeling of physical threat and disdain of majority society?

Prolegomena to Virtual Framing of a Revolution" by emerging Czech director Petr Hátle provides an interesting montage study of how to interpret the digital images of the Arab Spring. The final film "The Great Night" will be premiered this year at Jihlava IDFF and CPH:DOX.
Imitation of Life, a film by Canadian artist Mike Hoolboom, reveals the mystery of the relationship between the human mind and the film frames on the background of travelling back to the past, to the beginning of the art of film as well as to various genres.

Nazif and Senada live with their two daughters in a dilapidated house in a remote Bosnian village. The father tries to keep the family fed by collecting scrap iron.
Csak a szél (Orig.) / 2012 / France, Germany, Hungary / 87 min
Mari lives with her invalid father and two children in a shack in the woods outside the city. Their living conditions are modest, like their other Romani neighbors. For centuries, their "kind" has been commonly referred to as gypsies. Recently, more than ever, they must exist stealthily: five entire families in the area have already been murdered, gunned down in their own homes.
