Thanks to Slow TV, viewers can experience a fun fair in real time. They get the feeling that they’re actually on the boat or train. Shows already produced include a 7-hour train journey, 18 hours of river fishing, and a 5-day ship voyage along the coast of Norway. Seemingly boring events and journeys are fascinating, and Norwegians love it as much as any gripping TV drama. The Slow TV phenomenon is the brainchild of Thomas Hellum, producer of award-winning Norwegian documentaries, who has worked at NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation), since 1992.
