With an eye to both landscape and history, the film tracks Martin’s inquiry into the rural community of Itbayat, one of the farthest-flung islands in the Philippine archipelago. Made during MARTIN’s last year in film school, the result is an extraordinarily intimate, naturalistic diary-documentary that never lags behind, or runs ahead of, its viewers.
