Because of her Mongolian spot, the filmmaker and protagonist takes a filmic journey through Mongolia. However, the illusion of being closer to the country and the people of Mongolia because of her birthmark is destroyed right from the start. In The Land Of 99 Skies is finally also a film about valedictions. It shows a society in flux and the disruption of one`s illusions.The possibilities, which remain: accept and move on.
