Nina and Ely are growing old peacefully in their Moscow apartment, living reclusively amongst hundreds of works by Michelangelo, Leonardo de Vinci, Velasquez, Ruben and others. Accompanied by their crow and their cats, Nina and Ely retell the wonderful, romantic story of their collection to anyone who is interested in listening to it: nobility, the love of art, inheritance and fighting oppression having preserved them throughout the turbulent history of 20th century Russia. Bit by bit whilst telling their story, Nina and Ely rather overdo it. They get mixed up even totally far-fetched. Nina and Ely live in a fantasy world, which only exists for them - a world where it is impossible to untangle fact from fiction, a world where the art of lying has gradually taken over from reality.
