For almost two years, documentarist Veronika Sobková followed three protagonists while they were spending their lives in prison. While recording the turning points of their lives, she managed to capture minute psychological details in a truthful way. Twenty-eight-year-old Linda has just left the prison in Světlá nad Sázavou after serving an eight-month sentence for theft. Thirty-five-year-old Mirek has already spent thirteen and a half years in prison for fraud. Thirty-six-year-old Tomáš is serving his six-year sentence in the Oráčov prison for drug dealing and hopes to be released in the middle of his sentence.
Day after day, minute after minute, you can watch their way out. Will Linda be successful? Will she stop stealing and taking drugs? Will she manage to have a family like she always wanted? Will Mirek stop cheating? Will he find a girlfriend who will not judge him for his criminal past? Will Tomáš be released in the middle of his sentence? If so, will he be able to live without drugs? The film represents a metaphor of our coping with our freedom, our time and our lives; of our decisions during important turning points; of our longing to get out; not only out of prison but also out of the prison cells inside our minds.
