Seven years on, builders are unable to complete the last few kilometres of the D8 motorway that leads through the protected area of the Bohemian Uplands to Germany. The construction is blocked by a series of actions by the Children of the Earth civic association, which draws attention to illegality surrounding the course of the project. But locals see the situation differently. An endless number of cars and trucks pass beneath their windows every day and they want to finally have some respite. The delay is caused mainly by the inability of the state to comply with its own laws. A creative film that presents the malfunctioning of the state is framed by visually compelling images of the Bohemian Uplands and set to Wagner’s Tannhäuser.
