Early in is career, Mio Pang Fei became interested in western contemporary art. Throughout the cultural revolution, he devoted himself to “officially accepted” art — Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese art. In Macau, he established his own voice — a meeting of the Chinese tradition and western contemporary techniques he named neo-orientalism.
