Gustavo is a sixty-year old man who lives in Gethsemane, a historical neighborhood in the city center of Cartagena, Colombia. Through the shadowing of his everyday life, this documentary traces a portrait of this rather complex character with many sides and paradoxes. Everyday, he roams across Gethsemane’s night, which is full of music, color and debris. Death is a recurrent subject in his reflexions and the documentary evidences the end of a cycle: Gethsemane is at the verge of a drastic change, Gustavo is a metaphor for the shift taking place in this neighborhood and a whole society. Time passes by and Gustavo is getting tired, his body is getting worn-out and the neighborhood is breaking up. "Chasing after the wind" is a contemplation of a shared impermanence, where Gethsemane's debris bears witness of the disintegration of a community, but also of a human being.
