COOKING HISTORY
A documentary film about army cooks and how the everyday needs of thousands of armed stomachs affect the victories and defeats of statesmen. About the field kitchen as a model of a world where food preparation becomes a fight strategy; a fight for great ideals standing on strong legs of the kitchen table. The film is based on eleven recipes of the cooks since the Second World War till the war in Tchechenia; from France through the Balkans to Russia.

The festival whose tradition dates back to 1969 will present films including the awarded THE TURTLE´S RAGE where every frame contributes to the reconstruction of a torn relationship in front of the eye of the camera, and MATTHEW’S LAWS that crosses a border into the unknown and mysterious world of autism.

Traces of asocial utopia
Film INTO OBLIVION visits the site of an unfinished railway in the inhospitable Russian taiga. Sixty years ago, thousands lost their lives here, but work was halted soon after Stalin’s death and today all that remains are rusting remains in the swamps. Eyewitness testimony is combined with a meditative boat trip and traces of asocial utopia.

Backbreaking work is better than no work at all
MASTERCLASS OF MICHAEL GLAWOGGER - Michael Glawogger first established himself as an author of experimental and short films. Subsequently, he started to shoot documentary films from all corners of the globe. His films include, for example, the documentary Working Man's Death that explores the limits of tolerability of physical work through a look at the everyday life of workers labouring in extremely difficult conditions.
