The 13th edition of Doclisboa International Film Festival takes place from October 22 to November 1 and shows 236 films from 40 countries, including a total of 43 world premieres. On November 2 to 15, the festival will be followed by a special Doclisboa event at DAFilms.com.

Lost and Beautiful (Bella e Perduta) by Pietro Marcello opens the International Competition which comprises 20 films from 17 countries. The Portuguese Competition includes 8 films, world premieres and two first films. The Pearl Button by Patricio Guzmán, already awarded at Berlinale 2015, will be the closing film.
The festival presents the Želimir Žilnik Retrospective programmed by Boris Nelepo. The retrospective presents 50 films! Doclisboa curators also prepared the retrospective “I don’t throw bombs, I make films" – Terrorism, Representation which comprises films made between 1967 and 2014. The retrospective includes 28 films from 9 countries, presenting terrorism in its global aspects. Also, it presents its local and epochal nature, covering both extreme right and extreme left armed groups.
Programmed by Tomás Baltazar, the Focus on Greece follows a topical interest. Doclisboa has been programming films about the Greek crisis since 2012. Seeking a more archaeological perspective and a recognition of a cinematic space, Greece separates from the Cinema of Urgency section this year and is now a focus of the festival.
The Heart Beat section devoted to films on music and performing arts comprises 21 films this year while a special section will present 5 films nominated for the Doc Alliance Selection Award.
The festival will be held throughout the city, from Culturgest to Cinema City Campo Pequeno, from Cinema São Jorge to the Cinemateca, from The Cinema Ideal to the Museu da Eletricidade. Once more, in October the whole world fits in Lisbon.
