DOC ALLIANCE SELECTION // 2009

DOC ALLIANCE SELECTION represents five high-quality films, one selected by each of the Doc Alliance festival partners. The films tour at the five Festivals starting at VISIONS DU REEL Nyon. At the end of the year an international jury decides about the “Doc Alliance Award”. In 2009 the Award was handed over during the DOK Leipzig. The five national markets support the films at their festivals and in their theatrical, TV and DVD distribution.

The French documentary film The Arrivals was screened at the Jihlava IDFF 2010. At the end of the festival, it was selected as the best film of the travelling Doc Alliance Selection, winning the prestigious Doc Alliance Award. After its successful festival tour, the film opens the doors to a place where the clash of civilizations is a daily routine to online spectators as well.
