The action takes place in Malaysia, not far from Borneo, in the late fifties when the country, after many trials and tribulations, found itself under English yoke. In a Small lost village, far from everything, by a large tumultuous river. A river that will have a key role in this story. A simple story that encompasses passion and dreams, racism and money, a desire for indépendance and cowardice, but above all the love of a father to his daughter. A European man clings to his pipe dreams out of love for his daughter. A quest for the absolute, a story of passion and madness. A love that will lead to his final fall. Adapted from the novel by Joseph Conrad.
