The documentary film “The Vociferous Village” tells us a story of change of election’s in 2005, in the Malu village, a Developing District of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, China.
Malu village is a rich and sensitive topic. In 2004, the villagers used extreme means, such as suicide, to protest against the injustice of the government from collecting their own land. The Villagers voted the cadres out of office and besieged the governmental administration for more than three months. The violence was finally pacified by the intervention from the Prime Minister of China. During this period, the villagers had organized a meeting to dismiss the Director, but failed.
