The forty-five-second film “Workers Leaving the Factory” in Monplaisir was shown at the first public screening at the Grand Café in Paris on boulevard des Capucines on 28 December 1895, the date that film was born and thus also the first screening of the patterns that have there are surfaced repeatedly throughout the history of Czech cinematography. The director used the hundredth anniversary since this film about workers leaving the factory was made as anoccasion to explore the basic image and its other social and ideological variations and in the context of propaganda and fiction film.
