"Beyond Bytes" is an animated infographic explaining the internet in Iran between Freedom and Isolation. Internet access means access to information. In Iran, people are surfing through a filtered and censored internet. Private households are limited to painfully slow connections, while service providers are forced to filter the web, making thousands of websites inaccessible. Iran’s new Cyber Crimes Law is vague and unreasonable and is being used to inflict harsh punishments on computer users. Some Iranians however use technologies to break free of the ‘halal’ net.

This film is not currently online :(

But no worries. There are more just like it in our new programme.
