Making use of footage filmed during an air raid drill in 1936, the short film was made within a series of films commissioned by the Civil Anti-Aircraft Defence as part of a preventive promotional campaign. By means of handbooks, posters and films, the campaign pointed out the potential threat of a war attack, showing model situations that could impact the civilian population and presenting the possibilities of how to react to these situations. The film included no voice-over, however, the final slogans in the intertitles decidedly encouraged civil defence, targeting specifically women.

But no worries. There are more just like it in our new programme.
