At the Ji.hlava IDFF festival, we chatted with director Peter Kerekes about his film Wishing on Stars. The interview was led by young hosts Luna and Luka, who kept things playful—Peter even drew a card predicting he'd find money soon.
Peter admitted he originally didn’t want to make a film about the astrologer Luciana, but her fascinating personality won him over. Filming was full of surprises, like an 80-year-old woman diving into a forbidden lake.
"I'm more curious about what people think than about delivering a message," Peter said.
