Lauren DeFilippo is a Brooklyn based director and producer. Her work explores concepts of visionaries, outliers and overlooked places.
Lauren's short films have been broadcast and showcased around the world, including New York Times Op Docs, Retro Report, ESPN, Hot Docs, and Slamdance, and she was named “New Emerging Talent” at the Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels. She first got her start as a field and archival producer on a number of films for PBS's American Experience series.
She is a graduate of Stanford’s M.F.A. program in Documentary Film & Video and also holds an M.A. in English Literature from NYU and a BA in English from the University of Florida.
