Barbora Kinkalová (Czech Republic)

Barbora Kinkalova was born in Prague, studied Film and Tv Production at the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) and started to work as a production manager and executive producer on films. Mostly fiction films for theatrical release, one of them won the Best Czech Film award in 2008 (The Karamazovs, dir. Petr Zelenka, Czech- Polish coproduction, funded by Eurimages), but also documentaries. For 3 years, she worked as a head of production department in the National Film Archive. In 2017, she started to run her own production company, called Happy Film. It is focused on environmental topics in documentary production and in 2018 will start to work also on distribution of documentaries from abroad, dealing with environmental and sustainability issues.
