Luján Montes is a filmmaker and photographer. Her work explores the edges between documentary and experimental cinema. She has co-directed the independent and collective films: Impreso en Chilavert: Experiencia filmada (2006) and String Theory (2011). Also, she directed numerous short films in super 8 and 8 mm formats.
Her works have been shown at many national and international film festivals, such as BAFICI (ARG), Mar del Plata International Film Festival (ARG), FID Marseille (FR), Semana del Film Experimental (ARG), Festival Internacional de Cine de Derechos Humanos (ARG), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (FR), Los Angeles Filmforum (USA), Festival Internacional de Cine Lima Independiente (PE), Montevideo Cine Experimental (UY), and have been screened at museums and art venues in Buenos Aires, such as Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, Centro Cultural de la Memoria "Haroldo Conti", Casa Nacional del Bicentenario and Fondo Nacional de las Artes.
In 2018, she codirected the film El ruido son las casas that was premiered at BAFICI and FIDMARSEILLE, where it got a Special Mention of the First Film Competition. She is currently producing a new documentary called MMM. Music Much Movement. Both films are supported by the Argentine Cinema Institute.
