Francesco De Giorgi is an Italian filmmaker. Born in Copertino (Lecce), after degree in Ancient Literature, he graduated in directing and production for corporate cinema at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Milan. With his debut short film Finché c'è il mare (Italy, 2017) he was selected at the Short Film Corner of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and at numerous other international festivals. His short documentary Mud Road (Ethiopia, 2019) won the Macau International Film Festival and was selected at DocFeeds, Hotdocs, DjilavaFilm Festival and other important international documentary festivals. In 2020 with his colleague Giovanni Iavarone he founded the Nostos Films collective. His latest work, the long documentary Asini Dotti (Italy, 2022, 73'') was presented at the Ischia Film Festival 2023 and won the Festival del Cinema Invisible 2023. He is currently working on two other documentaries.
