Director of documentaries, short feature films and music videos. Graduate of documentary directing of the DOK PRO programme at the Wajda School. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Malaga (Spain) and holds a Master's degree in Cultural Studies. She has made documentaries in Poland, Romania and Jordan, reportages in Burma and Thailand, and assisted in casting in Colombia. As an assistant director she worked on Borys Lankosz's Reverse, Mads Matthiesen's The Model and Jan P. Matuszyński's Last Family.
Her documentary debut The Doges' Palace was recognized as the best film made as part of the Aristoteles Workshop. Arabic Secret was presented at several international festivals and received awards at the Media Festival - Man in Threat, HumanDoc FF or Ismailia Film Festival in Egypt, among others. She was granted a scholarship for Bydgoszcz Film Identity - she received a grant for developing a feature film script. Julia also directed the performative reading of Agmon Goren's play Alma i Ruta as part of the BIMA series at the Jewish Community Center in Warsaw. She is currently working on a documentary from Zimbabwe entitled Straight Outta Sally.
