Alberto Gemmi (Reggio Emilia, 1984). After studying at the Helsinki Faculty of Arts he specialised in Cinema at the University of Bologna and was awarded a Master’s in Filmmaking in Paris. He is interested in the interaction between image, sound and memory. His research focuses on the observation of landscape mutations and on complex society issues, using a methodology close to that of visual anthropology, and through the retrieval of archival footage. He has directed documentaries and experimental films premiered both in Italy and abroad. Working with musicians and performers he has curated video-installations, sound and live theatre performances and conducted cinema workshops in Italy and abroad.
