Daphne van den Blink, born in 1985, graduated successfully from the KASK film school in 2017, with the short documentary Common Ground. A film that highlights the migration theme in an intimate way. 2Doc.nl included the film on the ‘Makers of Tomorrow’ digital platform. A platform for young, debuting, documentary talent. Besides a Master degree in Audiovisual Arts, Daphne van den Blink also obtained a Master in Art Education at LUCA School of Arts and a Bachelor degree in Social-Cultural Work at Hogeschool Utrecht.
Daphne participated in the first Belgian Ket&Doc workshop. The Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF) and broadcaster KETNET selected her to make Papamagneet which premiered at JEF Festival in 2020. Papamagneet is a documentary for children about missing and how to deal with it.
Also in 2020, Daphne has developed educational kits and a documentary workshop for JEF, Belgian distributor of youth and children films. This hands-on workshop introduces documentary filmmaking to children and let’s them experiment with different techniques.
