João Dumans is a screenwriter and director based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His first feature film "Araby" (2017), co-directed with Affonso Uchoa, premiered at Tiger’s Competition in Rotterdam and was shown and awarded at numerous festivals around the world, including BFI and San Sebastian. He worked as an editor and screenwriter for several important Brazilian feature films of the last decade, including "He who saw the Abyss", "The Hidden Tiger", "The Sleepwalkers" and "The Residents".
