João Dumans is a screenwriter and director based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His first feature Araby (2017), co-directed with Affonso Uchoa, premiered at the Tiger Competition, in Rotterdam, and was shown and awarded in numerous festivals around the world. His second film, The lines of my hand (2023), won the Best Film Award at Tiradentes Film Festival, in Brazil. He worked as an editor and screenwriter for several brazilian features, including The Hidden Tiger (2014), Seven Years in May (2019) Where I grow old (2016), The Sleepwalkers (2018), The Residents (2010) and Joaquim (2017).
