Angelika Herta is a video artist and filmmaker based in Cologne, Germany. She studied Comparative Literature in Vienna and graduated from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Her short "The Best Way" (2014) was nominated for the German Short Film Award and her documentary Life Could Be So Beautiful (2019) won Best Student Film at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival. She received the "SHOOT" Young Artist Award in 2021. In 2023 her project "We Animals" was selected for the ESoDoc program. She was an Artist in Residence 2023 at the Tallinn Art Hall in Estonia. Herta is a member of the film collective Dokomotive and she advocates for barrier-free art practices.
