Show-tsai LIN was born in Taipei to a middle-class family from Nanfang'ao, Yilan. He first came into contact with moving images during his university years, after he moved to the small town in Tamsui. Deriving inspiration from critical urban theory, LIN likes to focus on the rapidly changing urban landscapes and those innovative attempts of collaboration across and beyond boundaries in his works. He believes that in order to speak to the world, we must start from laying bare our personal stories.
