Martine Deyres (France)

Born in Lyon in 1972, Martine Deyres first studied theater and worked as an actress before moving towards documentary cinema. Trained at Ateliers Varan then at Lussas (Master 2 documentary creation), she makes films on public places with hygienic and standardized devices, such as Lieu commun (2003) or White Spirit (2006). For a few years now, she has been tackling counterpoint by taking an interest in the world of psychiatry. While working on the preparation of her feature film Our Lucky Hours on the asylum of Saint-Alban, she met the famous psychiatrist Jean Oury with whom she made a long film of interviews, Le sous-bois des insensés ( 2015).
