Yaela is a peruvian filmmaker based in Buenos Aires. Her work explores photography, cinema and video from the crossroads between territory, displacement, and (dis) constructors of identity. Her films have been part of Punto de Vista, Berlin Critics' Week, FICValdivia, arcoMadrid, Lima Film Festival, DocBuenosAires, MACBA, among others. She has curated special programs for the CC. España, Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires and OSDE Foundation (Argentina). She has won the Juan Downey Award (2022), Bienal Arte Joven, The National Funds of Arts of Argentina (2019, 2022). In 2021, she released her first feature film as a director No hay regreso a casa, which is part of the serie “Ficciones Fronterizas”
