Maks Lyzhov (Ukraine)

Maks is a poet, artist, translator, film director, and Journalist, born in 1983 in Brovari, which translates as “brewers”. He studied at KMA and since then, mostly lives in Kyiv. He is the author of 4 published poetry collections. In 2016, directed his first short film entitled 70 Streets. In 2018 he participated in publication of “Play the Piano Drunk Like a Percussion Instrument Until the Fingers Begin to Bleed a Bit” – as a translator and author of the project dedicated to the first poetry collection by Charles Bukowski in the Ukrainian language. After the russian invasion of Ukraine, served in the army and plans to return there.
