Iranian visual artist and documentary filmmaker Behzad Nalbandi (1972) studied film at the Tehran Film School. He is the author of Kashkoul (2010), The Morning of the 9th Day (2012) and the award-winning feature debut The Unseen(2019), which tells the story of people in correctional institutions. His work often uses animated elements that can better convey the harsh reality of the social issues he addresses.
