Born in Dolo (Venice) in1976, Andrea Segre is a film and documentary director. He has directed four feature films, all presented at the Venice International Film Festival: Io sono Li (LUX European Audience Film Award) La prima Neve (Grand Prix - Annecy Italian Film Festival) L’Ordine delle Cose (Tonino Guerra Award for Best Story), Welcome Venice. He has made numerous documentaries, including Come un sulla terra (nominated as best documentary at David di Donatello Awards 2009), Il Sangue Verde (CinemaDoc award at the Giornate degli Autori 2010), Mare Chiuso (Golden Globe for best documentary), Indebito (opening event at the Locarno Film Festival 2013), I Sogni del Lago Salato (Nomination for Best Documentary at Nastri d'Argento 2015),Il Pianeta in Mare (Official Selection - out of competition - 76th Venice International Film Festival); Molecole (Official Selection - out of competition - 77th Venice International Film Festival); Co-written with Gian Antonio Stella. He is a founding member of ZaLab, a production, distribution and socio-cultural laboratory.
