Emanuel Pârvu is a film director, screenwriter, and actor. Born and raised in Bucharest, he studied at UNATC, where he earned a BA and an MA in Acting, then completed a PhD in Dramaturgical Structures. Alongside his work in film, Pârvu also teaches at Ovidius University in Constanța. His international reputation as a director took shape with his short films. His feature debut, Meda, or the Not So Happy Side of Things (2017), earned him the Best Director award at the Sarajevo Film Festival. A milestone in Pârvu’s career is Three Kilometres to the End of the World (2024), presented in Official Competition at Cannes, where it won the Queer Palm.
