Stefano Obino (Sardinia, 1976) is a screenwriter and filmmaker working across a wide range of formats, from independent cinema to documentary series. His debut feature, The Gospel According to Precario, resonated with Italian audiences and marked the beginning of a series of collaborations with international broadcasters. He later directed In the land of Coppoloni, featuring renowned Italian folk singer Vinicio Capossela, a finalist at the David di Donatello Awards. His work also includes three documentary series for Rai Italia. Moving from a primarily journalistic approach towards more creative storytelling, Obino directed the award-winning documentary War Is Over, which received recognition at the Nastri d’Argento 2022 – Italian National Film Critics Awards. He currently works as a developer, story editor, and screenwriter across both fiction and documentary series. His upcoming projects include LottoGang, a collaboration between Wild Bunch Italy and Netflix.
